monday was a different kind of day. papa went back to work and and mamma and ollie stayed home. nobody really enjoyed the day. the folks at work were kind and let papa ease back in to it. in addition they had a nice care package for ollie waiting for papa at his desk. Oliver just had his two week checkup...and guess how much he weighed?


6 lb!!!!!!



may not seem like a lot, but that's 17 oz bigger then his lowest weight after a few days after his birth.

Ollie's First Outing

On Sunday, Ollie went on his first outing that wasn't to the pediatrician or hospital. Papa J carried him in his fabulous new sling that he borrowed from his neighbors Cal & Phoebe & Magalie

yesterday i met a girl named juliana rose....i first thought hey this easy meeting girls they keep coming to see me, so i played it kinda shy. JR didn't like the way i walked so she gave me a big shove.

happy birthday julia

its julia's bday today. she wanted to make sure oliver did not share a bday with her so she sent this cute onezie to mama and papa(she also wanted oliver to be named zeus, is zane close enough?). the onezie came with a spell that made ollie show up 9 days early.....ollie seems fine with his early arrival...but maybe not with his oversized pants...this outfit lasted for 10 mins.

Ollie gets to meet his grandparents from Asheville

Just in time for his 1 week birthday, Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David arrived from Asheville

Ollie turned 1 week old at 8:18PM Friday March 19th.

He got to celebrate with Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David visiting from NC

I know I have heard it before its not a real smile just gas or something else, but wow this is some happy gas!

Really, we're home this time.

Ollie decided he needed a little time in the sun this week. At his first pediatrician's visit, they found he had some baby jaundice and needed to get some "phototherapy." (At least he doesn't need psychotherapy just yet.) So back to the hospital for a few days under the supervision of his consulting pediatrician, Uncle Dr. Joe Maurer—who doesn't even charge extra for 3am phone calls. He tanned under the lights for about 30 hours and we were able to take him out every few hours to feed and cuddle him a bit. He ended up liking his mod goggles, still ate well, and pooped out all the bad stuff. We came back home yesterday and are really staying this time.
