After a few months hiatus from hosting preschool at our house until Vivienne could get some of her immunizations and Mama could get some more sleep, it was finally our turn to have 6 rowdy toddlers over for three days last week.
Papa was going to stay and play with the kids for part of the week, but unfortunately he got sick and had to be quarantined in his room. He did get a little track building in before that though.
Then left the boys to play with Ollie's Thomas trains with each other. He did an ok job at sharing his toys this week.
Partly because Teacher Vickie brings some new toys every week for them to play with. Zadia and he made birthday cakes with the stacking pegs. (Must be for Mama with all those candles!)
After they all clean up and "pack away" as they call it (everyone has to help at least a little) they're allowed to sit on the couch and quietly read while waiting for circle time.
Reading by themselves is fun, but it's even better when Teacher Vickie reads to them!
This week's theme was Vehicles: Boats and Teacher Vickie had a science experiment for them!
She had a bunch of objects and they had to guess if they would sink or float. As you can see, they all had a lot of fun with it!
Then they made our own boats! They didn't have time to float them in the water during class, but Ollie floated his later and it worked! Until he capsized it.
But I think his favorite part of the week was when Teacher Vickie got out her balance board and they all took turns testing their agility in different ways.
They had to be careful...
They tried not to fall...
Because of course, there were hammerhead sharks in the water below them if they did!
Then Alec and Ollie figured out that it was much more relaxing to avoid those sharks in their very own comfy boat.
It was a fun host week and Ollie keeps telling Mama that he wants preschool to be at our house again this week. But Mama might need a break before our next host week!
