Sleepover!

Ollie's cousins came over to celebrate the big THREE. I think the highlight for Ollie was sharing his room and having a sleep over. Note below who is sleeping in the toddler bed and who is sleeping in the big boy bed. Not sure how he convinced Sofia.

It's awesome watching these guys get along. At one point In the weekend Matias was calling Ollie his brother.

We put the kids down around 930. They were up till 1130 giggling and telling stories to each other.

I guess at some point we will have to take down the video monitor in the kids' room, but for now it's great to catch moments like this

THREE!?

That's how Mama and Papa feel about it too, Ollie...

Kinda exciting, kinda scary, wholly unbelievable, and incredibly, amazingly, awesome.

It's been a really busy day for all of us on this, your third birthday, so we won't say much at this late hour—except the most important thing—that we love you so very, very much my sweet, sweet little boy.

Hide and Sleep

Ollie wasn't feeling so well this past weekend, and try as he might to play through it, our game of Hide and Seek ended rather peacefully when I found him "hiding" in Mama and Papa's bed (a good three hours before his regular naptime).

Sad Goodbyes

Ollie's friend Elodie is moving away. Do you remember that Elodie was Ollie's first kiss!?

We recently met Elodie and her family at their favorite breakfast place for some goodbye play.

There were no kisses this time, but their princesses and cars did "get married".

We are so very sad to see them go! We'll really miss them, but are excited for them and their new adventure.

And I guess we'll just have to go visit them sometime soon so Vivienne can get her first kiss from Elodie's new little brother Ethan!

Stop, Chop, and Roll

We've been busy here in Brooklyn.

Ollie has pretty much mastered his "chopping" skills.

And since he doesn't need regular utensils now, he's found something else creative to do with them.

And Vivienne, while impressed with her big brother...

Has a new skill of her own to show off!

Visiting Sofia and Matias

We didn't get many pictures because we were just too busy having fun, but a few weekends ago, we visited Ollie and Vivienne's cousins Sofia and Matias.

Stories with Papa.

And a visit to some really cool caves. Ollie loves to play cave with his pillows and blankets, but he was a little skeptical of going into a real cave at first.

But it only took a little while and he was having fun.

watch your head papa!

Snowball fight!

(yep, i was there too!)

Just Looking Cute

normally mama dresses me in my pajamas all day because she's lazy and it's just way easier to change 20 diapers a day when all you have to do is unzip a zipper and swap that poopy diaper for a clean one. but every once in a while she dresses me up like the adorable little girl that i am.

Preschool at Ollie's House Again

After a few months hiatus from hosting preschool at our house until Vivienne could get some of her immunizations and Mama could get some more sleep, it was finally our turn to have 6 rowdy toddlers over for three days last week.

Papa was going to stay and play with the kids for part of the week, but unfortunately he got sick and had to be quarantined in his room. He did get a little track building in before that though.

Then left the boys to play with Ollie's Thomas trains with each other. He did an ok job at sharing his toys this week.

Partly because Teacher Vickie brings some new toys every week for them to play with. Zadia and he made birthday cakes with the stacking pegs. (Must be for Mama with all those candles!)

After they all clean up and "pack away" as they call it (everyone has to help at least a little) they're allowed to sit on the couch and quietly read while waiting for circle time.

Reading by themselves is fun, but it's even better when Teacher Vickie reads to them!

This week's theme was Vehicles: Boats and Teacher Vickie had a science experiment for them!

She had a bunch of objects and they had to guess if they would sink or float. As you can see, they all had a lot of fun with it!

Then they made our own boats! They didn't have time to float them in the water during class, but Ollie floated his later and it worked! Until he capsized it.

But I think his favorite part of the week was when Teacher Vickie got out her balance board and they all took turns testing their agility in different ways.

They had to be careful...

They tried not to fall...

Because of course, there were hammerhead sharks in the water below them if they did!

Then Alec and Ollie figured out that it was much more relaxing to avoid those sharks in their very own comfy boat.

It was a fun host week and Ollie keeps telling Mama that he wants preschool to be at our house again this week. But Mama might need a break before our next host week!
