6 little peas on a couch

mama says she knows she still has to post christmas pictures, but how is she supposed to have time to go through 500+ pictures when she has to take me to all my playdates?

fridays are my favorite days—i get together with a bunch of my friends at one of our houses. last week there were 6 of us, all at zadia's house! it was madness.

this is me wondering why elodie and zadia always seem to run away from me.

this is all of us. and no, mama didn't photoshop this picture... with just a little baby wrangling, we all actually sat on the couch for at least one second without crying, falling, crawling off, or grabbing each other's hair or toys.

10 Months!

No, we have not time traveled, Oliver actually is 10 months old today. We can't believe it either.

sleep over!

who is that cutie playing with my stool? yep, it's zadia. let me tell you about my day yesterday...

first, a bunch of my friends came over to play

zoe, alexandra, zadia, and elodie. (only 10 months old and i'm quite the ladies' man already.)

when it was time for everyone to go, mama put me down for a nap... there i was, thinking my good day full of friends was over, but surprise! when i woke up, who was still there? zadia!! zadia's mama and papa went out to party like they used to, so zadia stayed with us for the whole evening!

now you think i would be excited about that, right? well, it turns out i'm not a ladies' man after all, but rather a bit of a mama's boy. when i woke from my nap and saw mama holding zadia, i got a little jealous and proceeded to cry for the next 45 minutes. mama said thank god zadia was a perfect little angel. this is a picture of her playing happily by herself while i cried my head off.

i finally did calm down though—mama says it was when papa came home and i could have someone's full attention at all times. then i was perfectly fine and zadia and i played together like the old friends we are.

sometimes i steal her toys.

but then i give them back.

and then i steal them again.

for dinnertime, we took turns eating in my awesome secondhand $10 ikea highchair. zadia was first, and man is she a champion eater! she eats everything in front of her and smiles the whole time.

unlike me, who is on a mandarin orange kick right now and can only be enticed to eat bites of other things in between orange slices. this is me searching through the 20 other things on my tray to find the oranges. [addendum: grampa just emailed and pointed out that by "eat" orange slices, i mean suck the juice out and spit the rest of the orange out. it's a fun, messy way to eat oranges. papa's thinking of investing in a juicer.]

i was a little distracted with zadia there, but did manage to lick my tray clean.

after dinner, we played a little more. and by played, i mean screamed. (i was a little hyper from all the oranges.)

then it was time for some dessert. zadia had her bottle.

and i had more oranges. cause you can never have too many oranges.

then, sadly, it was time to get ready for bed. we both got into our stripey, tight, hipster pajamas.

since it was a special sleepover night, mama let us play a little more before going to bed. we played with everyone's favorite toy—dirty shoes!

then mama read us a bedtime story, and it was off to sleep.


it was an awesome day! i hope we can have zadia over for a sleepover again soon.

mama is still sorting through the 634 pictures from our christmas extravaganza week in ohio. in the meantime i just wanted to share this picture of me and mama with you.

i love holidays!

there are a lot of great things about holidays... presents, yummy food, seeing my cousins, and aunts and uncles, and all my wonderful grandparents. (and i'll post a ton of pictures of all the fun we had soon.) but i think my favorite part is that papa doesn't go to work! i loved spending time with him so much that when he left for work this morning, i cried.

come home soon papa! i miss you today.

my first snowstorm

and it's a good one! a giant blizzard hit brooklyn yesterday. this is our street:

mama and papa and i went on our roof to play in the snow.

it was super windy—good thing I was all bundled up!

i ate some snow—which isn't as good as a juicy clementine, my favorite food right now.

next i made a snow angel

which wasn't much fun for me as you can see

but the result was pretty adorable, right?

later we walked around the neighborhood, which was a blast!


i can't wait until i'm big enough to go sledding!
