A Quick Intro to the Cottage

It's time for pictures from the cottage! Today's post will introduce you to the eating and sleeping habits of most cottage visitors. We eat a lot of junk food (4 packages of double stuff oreos) and take lots of naps. What a life! Ollie got right into the swing of things with a little coaching from Grampa.

Ollie met Papa's cousin Wendy, he was quite mesmerized and couldn't keep his eyes off of her.

She was almost hypnotic. Even Great Aunt Sandie couldn't gather his attention

We're In Trouble Now!

While we sort through all the cottage pictures and videos to post, we wanted to leave you with this video of Ollie's brand new skill. He loves to do it all the time and everywhere now that he's figured it out. On the floor, on my lap, on the changing table, and most fun for us, in his sleep, waking himself up every hour in the process. Seriously. Every. Hour.

Today is Onkel Heimi and Tante Sujata's Anniversary. 14 years! Inspiration to us all. Happy Anniversary! Can't wait for you to meet Ollie in person.

Speaking of Swissland. This picture above was taken during our vacation last year, approximately 1 hr after Mama and Papa found out Mama was prego. Ollie do you see the twinkle in your Mama's eyes? Little Man we were ecstatic!

This is Mama taking Ollie on his first swim! She is floating down the Aare an awesome deep fast river that runs through Bern.

Little Man do you see Papa? He is floating hands and feet free.

Cottage, Here We Come!

Today we're leaving for the cottage and Ollie is SO excited! He has two bathing suits—one from Nana and Poppy and one from Uncle Matt and Aunt Nikki—and last week Mama bought him the smallest, brightest life jacket she could find. So now he's ready for the boat and the lake and drinking lots of beer. See you in a week!

happy 60th birthday grandma ruthie!

and one more very important post today. grandma ruthie turns 60 today and i'm sending a big drooly, slobbery internet kiss to her!

grandma ruthie, don't look so stunned! 60 is a great number. when i turn 1, you'll turn 61, when i turn 10, you'll turn 70. when i turn 40, you'll turn 100! we can ring in the new decades together.

cause sometimes i have to share her with all my cousins! which actually isn't so bad either cause they're lots of fun and are showing me all sorts of new ways to get into trouble.

uncle matt promised he's going to teach me to play poker and golf, learn to fart and burp real loud, and give me my first beer.

aunt nikki has got me figured out. a little love and a pretty lady to drool on and i'm in heaven.

well it seems oh so long ago now, but i never got around to telling you all about my trip to louisville to hang out with all my cousins and aunts and uncles and grandma jane. this is all of us together at the track. aunt kristen is schooling us early on how to gamble, cause she's cool like that.

This Is What It Feels Like to Be a Hot Girl

J said he now knows what it feels like to be a hot girl because when he's carrying Ollie, it's so adorable that everyone turns and stares at him.
