Who Are Those Big Kids?

It's back to school week here in NC. We had an "orientation" day on Monday and here's how the morning started out:

This is what Vivienne wanted to wear to school.

 

She's so damn cute we almost let her.

Ollie was mad because "I'm tired of driving in the car! I want to walk to school." Oh my poor little Brooklyn boy.

Luckily, once we got to school, everyone was happy.

Ollie was THRILLED to start making some new friends.

And after sitting with Papa for a while, Vivienne decided she just might like this school thing after all.

Especially if she gets to do this! Oh yeah, mess it up, kiddo.

So this morning on the first full day of school for both of them, we tried for a new round of pictures.

So cooperative, these two.

How can you not love those faces though?

Well maybe Mama cried a little when she dropped them at school. But maybe she also did a little happy dance. Cause see that house there? That is a quiet, empty house. Until 12:30 anyway.

Happy Birthday Sofia and Matias!

Only one day late with our birthday wishes. We hope you had wonderful birthdays. We can't believe you're 7 already!!! What??? Seriously, what?

We love you both and miss you lots and can't wait until we get to see you again soon!

My Little Fish

We've been spending pretty much part of every day at the pool this summer. And on the days we don't go, Ollie asks over and over when we're going to go again. And very time we get in the car Vivi asks, "Go pool?"

Only a few short weeks ago, Ollie insisted on wearing his floatie even in the baby pool and wouldn't get his face anywhere near the water.

This is now, after countless hours at the pool and only three swim lessons in:

We Moved!

Yeah, yeah, that's such old news! Mama has all sorts of plans to back-date a bunch of posts about our pre- and post-moving adventures and visitors over the last three months, but meanwhile, let's just try to keep up with where we're at now, shall we Mama?

Summer Thunderstorms with Alyson

Stay up late. Turn off the lights. Watch some lightning. Have a photo shoot. We are really going to miss our wonderful babysitter.

Alyson made this awesome puzzle for the kids so they'll still get to play with her when we move.

5 Days. Only 5 days until we move. Luckily the kids will have one last long day with Alyson when the movers are here. Starting to say goodbye to everyone is really sad for us. Maybe when we're in NC and haven't made any new friends yet, Mama will finally make time to post our year's worth of back logged photos of all our growing over the last year and all our fun adventures and all our wonderful friends here. Leaving our friends is the hardest part. We're really sad to be moving far away from all of them and will miss them every day.

Last Stop in Coney

Before we head off to live in the wilds of North Carolina in 3 weeks (!!!) we are trying to fit in some NYC favorites. A trip to Coney Island was on the top of our list.

 

 

 

 

 

Date Night

Spring break still! Mama and Papa are on a daytime date today, stretching it out into the evening. This is what Ollie and Vivi are up to. (Thanks Alyson!)
