Weird Science

Ollie got to the explore the World Science Festival today. He learned how to make and fly an "Ollie kite" (anything small is an Ollie thing anything big is a Papa thing)

After kites we went to Polytech to see some robots. Unfortunately Papa nerd as well as Ollie nerd was equally intrigued by the robots so we do not have pix of his favorites soccer ball kicking robots and bird and jelly fish robots but we did get a pic of this oneO

After the bots Ollie captured an alligator that was jumping out of the sewer

Chopsticks!!

Tomorrow Ollie gets to leave Ollie's new house. It's been a fun 2 weeks with new toys, new bath, new books, and a new experience - his first attempt at eating with chopsticks! We are definitely going to have to pick up a set for him.

i asked papa to find a good picture of mama to help me write this mother's day post. he told me this is one of his favorite pictures since it was taken within hours of finding out that I was growing in mama's belly. he said i was just a little more than a twinkle in her eye. do you think she knew I was going to be such a handful?

 

i woke up nice and early today to tell mama I loved her.... somewhere around 530. she wasn't ready but papa was ready to film it

SHOWERHEADS!!!!!!

While eating breakfast together this morn, the usual topic of conversation for mama and papa was the renovation, I believe specifically tile.

Out of the blue, Ollie shouts SHOWERHEADS! We all start to laugh. Poor guy is so sick of us talking about this project.

The one good side is we sometimes let him watch some dinosaur train while we are planning. This was the scene last night right before bath time.

Life at Ollie's house has a been a bit hectic of late. We decided now is the right time to renovate our uber 80's bathrooms. It took awhile to find a contractor that could meet at least 2 out 3 of our project needs, budget, quality, and schedule. Schedule was the one we ended up compromising on. We had to find a sublet and finalize the renovation details with about a week's notice....so Ollie has a new house!

One thing he is sick of listening to is Mama & Papa talking about the renovation. He often interrupts us and says no Mama dont talk to Papa talk to me! I am not sure why he is not enthralled by wide array of subway tile offered: 

 

This evening we moved in to our sublet (luckily the home of a 2 yr old boy) and it took Ollie all of 5 minutes to spread out the kid's entire set of toys on the floor.

One perk to the new temp digs is that it is across the street from a old school soda fountain shop. This eve we had a scoop of ice cream, next time we will try an egg cream 

april showers bring november ????

it has been awhile since i have posted....  my 2 yr old life can be quite full...i have classes to go to, friends and family to visit, places to scoot, balls to kick, you get the idea.

but to be honest the real reason why i haven't posted in awhile is that i have a lil secret to share.   i can't wait to tell you. you see i can swipe and find games on my ipod, but i have not figured out how to type letters. every time i "post",  the olliezee webmaster - my mama,  graciously helps me with the letters and pictures. well mama has been real busy the past few months. and by busy i mean sleeping 14 hours a day.

 cause mama has a baby in her belly!!!

yep i am going to be a big brother. i'm really excited. i like kissing mama's belly.

i went to the doctor and saw the baby in mama's belly on TV! i think there is a lil sister in there, but we will not find out until november 3! i cant wait to meet you.

We're SO sorry we're a day late with your birthday wishes—Mama couldn't figure out how the new Picasa worked to post new photos of your adorable little mug.

We can't believe you're THREE already! (Even though we heard that you think you're four...) We hope you had a fantastic birthday and got all the attention you deserve. We can't wait to see you again in June, it won't be soon enough!

Ollie, I can't believe you're two years old already. The last two years have been the best of my life because of you. Just when I think I couldn't possibly fit any more love for you in my body, another day comes and I love you even more than the last. You are an amazing little boy—I would have never guessed that I'd be having whole conversations with you at the age of two. That you are riding your scooter down Brooklyn streets like Evil Knievel. That you know almost all of your letters (mixing A and K up sometimes), your last name (leaving out the Maurer part! occasionally), and be able to count to 10 (without that pesky 5 usually). That you devour books like I used to, and run to me every night after bathtime and ask "read a book together?" That you still love to snuggle in the morning. That you play so nicely with your friends and ask them "you want some of this?" when you're feeling generous. That you want to follow Papa to work every morning and when I ask you what you would do at work, you say "I play work". That your imagination is growing as fast as you are and that you understand what pretend is, but still like to call the family of skunks in your book "Mama, Papa, and Ollie". That you sweat as much as your Papa and I do (sorry about that!) That your favorite games are the silly ones that make you laugh that laugh—the one that makes me laugh too, every time, because it is so full of joy. That you say "I love you Mama", unprompted, which is so incredible it makes my heart hurt every time I hear it. Oliver, I promise I will always try my very very hardest to make sure you are as happy as you make me every day. I love you so so so so much. xxoo, Mama
