Breakin' It Down

After a day at the playground with Zadia, they still had enough energy for a dance-off.

Another Reason We Love Summer

Because Grandma Jane comes to visit for a whole week! (Maybe twice!?)

Our Last Few Host Weeks of School

Happened over a month ago now, but still worth posting some pictures.

Their ladybug house!

Letting a ladybug crawl on his arm.

Projecting the ladybug's shadow on the ceiling.

Art projects.

Construction projects.

I know! I know!

Making a bug catapult.

"Papa, I need a different fulcrum."

Even Vivienne got into the action this time!

And the older kids were great with her.

Can I Hold Vivienne?

Almost every day, Ollie asks if he can hold Vivienne.

Applying That Book* Learnin'

Grandma Jane came to visit and Ollie was really excited to play with her every morning. Luckily for Grandma, our neighbor was away and she was able to sleep in his apartment, right downstairs from us for most of the visit. It was just one night that she had to sleep on our couch. That morning, Ollie came out, got his usual morning banana and sat smack in the middle of the floor, staring at a sleeping Grandma as he ate it. Then he whispered to me:

"Mama, why is Grandma sleeping in the daytime?"
"Well, actually, 6am is technically morning, Ollie."
"No, no, Mama, I think maybe she's nocturnal."

More pictures from her visit soon!

*(Ok, ok, he learned it from watching TV...)

School's Out!

Last week was Ollie's last week of school. Wow, it sure went fast.

Milo's mommy and daddy took some awesome class photos for us. It was pretty hilarious trying to get all the kids to smile for their pictures. And then to smile all at once for the class photo. Lots of antics were involved, but in the end, it was the promise of lollipops that worked.

Stubborn boy refusing to smile.

This is how many adults it took to get it to happen.

But it finally did!

What a wonderful year and wonderful group of kids!

And a wonderful teacher too! We sure will miss Teacher Vickie!

Then on the last day of school, the kids had a Moving Up Day ceremony and performance.

(The boy in orange with a green mohawk is Ollie.)

And a few videos of their performance:

Playing Together

He may not like going on the swing himself, but he sure loves pushing Little Sister!

And Little Sister gets the biggest kick out of pretty much anything that Big Brother does.
