Beach Baby At Last!

Remember this boy? The one who hated the beach and the sand?

On our vacation in Mexico when we spent three days on the beach, he was only happy if he was on the beach blanket...

 Eating fruit...

Sleeping on Mama's lap...

Or practicing his spanish with his new friend Jimmy. Anything, as long as he wasn't touching the sand.

But look at him now!

He still likes to sleep on the beach.

But when we went to Ocean City, he saw his cousins playing in the sand and wanted to be like them so much that he overcame his fear.

And before long he was having a blast.

Even helping to bury Matias up to his neck.

And make a few little mermaids.

(Oh, and he really likes boardwalk fries too.)

Yeay beach baby!!!! Mama sure is happy that she can take him to the beach this summer.

Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David Visit

Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David came to visit this past weekend and it was awesome.

Ollie really loves his books these days...

And Grandma Ruthie read every one he would bring to her.

A while ago Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David gave Ollie an adorable little bear backpack.

And Ollie got it out to show off for them.

Grandma came with Ollie to his Little Gym class. He was a little crabby at the class and didn't get as much climbing in as he usually does.

So he figured out a way to make up for it at home.

We also made a trip to see the Highline, a project that Papa's company worked on.

It's an old elevated rail line that has been turned into a park.

Ollie liked the water feature at the park.

And he really liked the sound that stomping on the grates made.

And now he really misses his Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa David!

OZ in the IC for a RosenGreen Extravaganza Weekend

Last weekend we made a trek out to Iowa City to witness the marriage of our amazing friends Jon and Julia. This pretty much sums up our feelings about the two of them as well:

Ollie had a great time in the midwest, it is in his blood after all.

So much that's he's got his own tractor at the barn where Jon and Julia were married.

He liked the hash browns at his first fast food restaurant.

He liked his new Hawkeyes hat.

He liked the playground and slides.

He liked playing with his friend Juliana all weekend.

But in spite of all that, you can still tell he's a city kid because he doesn't much care for his carseat.

But he did tolerate it enough that we were able make a side trip to Racine, Wisconsin to see the building Papa made for S.C. Johnson.

It's a really cool round building with tons of glass and a hanging airplane.

Ollie loved running around the map on the floor.

And wished that he could ride in the plane.

We even got a special tour of a Frank Lloyd Wright building on the S.C. Johnson campus.

And Ollie tried out the historical 3-legged chair.

Nice work Papa!

And happy wedding day Jon and Julia! We love you!

Agua-tastic

Today Ollie and Mama decided to enjoy the beautiful weather at the park. But not just any park, a park with WATER FUN! Ollie, for some reason has decided he no longer likes the swings and cries when we put him in one, but it turns out that's okay because his new favorite thing is water... just in time for summer.
Figuring out how things work.

Tons of areas to just stomp and splash.

Checking out the fountain situation.

Going for it.

Squealing with pleasure.

Chattering teeth and a big smile. We'll be here a lot this summer.

Boy Loves His Cousins

We've been very lucky to have seen Ollie's cousins Sofia and Matias twice in the last month. First we went to Hershey to visit them (and Grandma Jane!!) and then we met them in Ocean City. Ollie LOVES his cousins and wants to do everything they do.

Sofia is very patient with Ollie when he constantly tries to steal her princesses...

and crayons, so that he can color like she does.

And Matias showed Ollie how to play some bball.

Ollie tried some defense...

but he needs to grow a little.

Ollie was very excited about sitting at the table in his very own chair with the kids.

It was so great seeing them all playing together.

And seeing Matias and Sofia being so loving to Ollie.

Hershey was also the place that Ollie first learned to climb up and down the stairs. Yeay carpet!

And if seeing his cousins wasn't enough, Ollie also got to play with Grandma Jane all weekend! Dancing to the music with her.

Excited about about that guitar!

An easter egg hunt at the neighbors.

And lots of reading and cuddle time.
